Surprise, Surprise

by | Mar 20, 2023 | Landscaping

Everyone loves surprises! Who doesn’t like to wake up to breakfast in bed or come to work to find your bestie bringing you your favorite coffee? But, on the other hand, waking up to discover you have no hot water while already in the shower is a surprise, too, so not all surprises are good. And one universally loathed surprise (even more so than surprise parties are loved) is unexpected bills. So that’s why Divine is unveiling our new level monthly billing plan for your landscaping!

Flowers Are a Nice Surprise, Paying for Them Isn’t

Divine prides itself on being fair with our customers and treating them and their landscapes well, but we have four seasons in Kansas, and when you only pay for something once a year, even though you know it’s coming, it can be a surprise. And sometimes you don’t plan for it. Colorful gardens bed with flowers and shrubs on a well-manicured property in El Dorado, KS

Monthly Billing

You’re already familiar with the concept of monthly billing. Many companies charge you the same thing every month. Cell phone companies were able to upend the status quo by including long-distance in their calling plans by charging the same amount each month. We’re offering you the same opportunity with your landscaping costs with level monthly billing. It allows you to plan for the big projects you have coming up and maybe even for something you don’t expect yet.

Kind of Like Insurance

Anyone with a car or home pays monthly insurance. It can seem like a waste of money. Every month you pay money into what seems like a bottomless pit. But if you run into an actual problem, that insurance pays off! For example, if someone crashes into your car, instead of paying tens of thousands of dollars (or more!) to replace it, your insurance covers the majority. Then it’s not as big of a financial hit. That’s kind of like what we’re doing. But perhaps even more similar to us is what the electric company offers.

The Energy Bill Model

Many energy companies allow you to plan for the colder months by averaging out your bill all year. That means you pay a little more in the summer when you’d typically pay less, but it all evens out. The benefit is that you always know what you’ll pay. Like energy companies, we have a good idea of what your landscape will need throughout the year. Weather isn’t predictable, but seasons are! So we are using that predictability to allow you to space out those expenses more evenly.

Different Seasons

As the new year began, you probably weren’t seeing as much of Divine as you do during the summer. You gave us a call for your snow and ice removal, but that only needed to happen every once in a while, which left you missing us. Just kidding. But it did leave you with a lower or nonexistent monthly landscaping bill. Now Spring is here, and you’re doing your Spring cleanup. It’s a one or two-time expense. You’re also planning out all your new garden and other plant installations. Once we have those installed, we’ll need to maintain them. So throughout the Spring and Summer, you’ll be seeing Divine on a more regular basis. Then in Autumn, we’ll do a final mow and some leaf cleanup, and you’ll start missing us again as winter arrives.

Cheap Winters, More Costly Summers

A landscape worker on a tractor mowing a large lawn in El Dorado, KS You probably spend much more on your landscape in the summer than in the winter. That’s because, at a minimum, we’ll be by to mow every other week (but more likely weekly). But in the winter, you might go weeks or months without spending a dime. That’s nice in the winter, but wouldn’t it be better to even things out?

Plan for Projects

Level monthly billing also allows you to plan for one-time or seasonal projects. For example, you don’t need to always trim your trees. But you can set your watch on the fact that you’ll need to cut and prune them once a year. Likewise, every Autumn, you’ll have a significant seasonal cleanup which you should duplicate (albeit with a few different tasks) in the Spring. Similarly, once a year, your lawn will need aeration, overseeding, and fertilization to keep it healthy. Again, you can pay that once a year, or with level monthly building, you can divide those payments, so it’s part of your monthly budget.

Level Monthly Billing is Divine

We want to do our part to help our customers plan for their landscaping. When we plan, we can meet all our needs! So sign up for level monthly billing, and you’re landscaping will be budgeted for you.
